CANADIAN ICON

Incredible performance by everyone (Jims boys have a ways to go but they were still fun to watch) . The fiddle/guitar solos in “Five days in july” were incredible and Jim was silky smooth as ever. Its been a week and Im still humming his songs! If you get the chance, take this in, you wont regret it.

GREAT AS ALWAYS

Jim Cuddy never disappoints! I can say that once again after attending his latest concert at the Burton Cummings Theater. Speaking of the theater, there are no bad seats in the place. We had lunch at the Yellow Dog Tavern just across the street and it was obvious that many other people had the same idea. Since this was Jim Cuddy and 'friends' we knew that there would be other songs performed by other people. Barney Bentall and Jim's sons were also good, but for me, the star of the show is always Jim Cuddy. He performed a few songs from his newest album 'Constellations", the title song of which has a great back story to it. Jim performed about 5 or 6 Blue Rodeo songs as well which are always well received. Jim was recovering from a cold and a few band members were ill that night but it simply was not noticed. The final song of the night was an unplugged version of 'Wash Me Down' which was awesome! I hope Jim keeps writing and performing for many more years to come!

WHAT A VOICE

We enjoyed everything and anything that Jim Cuddy sang. His voice is so great. However, we would have preferred some extra older ballads instead of some of the newer songs. We paid to hear him sing, so there were too many times we had to endure the numbers by his sons. Didn't appreciate the vulgar language in the second encore song.....that's when we left. Why would he talk like that when his mother, wife and other family were in the first row? Not classy at all...probably better to remove that part from the act because it is so unnecessary. Otherwise, an enjoyable evening.

CAME TO SEE JIM CUDDY NO HIS SONS

I bought my tickets months ago and got great seats, right in the middle 15 rows from stage. Always been a Blue Rodeo and Barney Bentall fan but never been in the right place and time to see them live. He started the show saying he would only play half of his new album then get into what we all came to hear. Half way through the show he admitted he lied and played another. But the worse part of the evening was having to listen to his sons performing their songs, not that they were bad, I just found it a waste of my time. The rest audience I'm sure agreed as the applause was less and less for every song. I knew that since Greg Keelor had to leave the band things would be different but I thought Jim would recognize the fans love of the Greg Keelor songs and play them, he didn't. My favourite Blue Rodeo song, hasn't hit me yet, didn't get played. Never again Jim...you lost me

NOT WORTH THE TICKET PRICE

It was like a chance to expose his sons to the limelight. Piano and harmonica were too loud for the set. Older son has a good voice but his piano playing left a lot to be desired. Enjoyed the few Blue Rodeo songs but whenever it came to the piano portion of the song, it ruined the experience.
